Think of AI like a car, it still needs to be driven.

Last year, there was quite a buzz of ChatGPT. People were divided into two polarized camps.

People were either hyped or fearful of ChatGPT, believing it would eventually take their jobs.

Now, it’s a fact that this AI’s learning capacity is faster than humans but it has no imagination of its own. People tend to forget that humans took millions of years to evolve while AI has only had a few decades — it is still not capable enough to replace humans.

ChatGPT needs a human to guide it to reach a solution that meets the requirements.

Think of ChatGPT like a car. It can run faster than humans but it still needs a driver. Many might argue that self-driving cars are already a reality but in true essence, we are far away from having a true self-driving car. A self-driving car still cannot drive on its own. For a car to be truly self-driven, it needs to interact with other cars in the vicinity, it needs to be a part of at least a local intelligent network where cars, traffic lights and even roads need to interact with each other. Even though we have had tremendous success in self-driven cars, we are still light years behind in having a truly automated self-driven car.

Coming to ChatGPT or any AI Model, we should not be worried about it taking over the world. It’s still in its very early stage but I can assure you it’s only going to improve and I strongly urge you to adopt this emerging technology the way you had adapted the internet and mobile in the past.

When thinking about the capabilities of ChatGPT, you should consider the fact that AI’s learning capacity is faster than humans. When a human makes a decision, it can be influenced by a lot of intangible factors, such as his cultural upbringing and beliefs. On the other hand, even the most advanced AI is limited by what it has been fed into.

When it comes to creative work, AI may help overcome writer’s block, but it cannot write an engaging book on its own. It is a powerful tool that requires human guidance, and people should adopt it as a tool like a calculator or a car, rather than expecting it to perform miracles.

When it comes to writing, ChatGPT has proven to be a valuable asset in enhancing my writing style by serving as a personal trainer and providing feedback. It has given me the tools I need to succeed, but ultimately, I am responsible for utilizing them to achieve my goals. In other words, ChatGPT has given me wings, but it is up to me to spread them and fly.

Besides, we should understand that the law of nature follows only one rule — “Change”.

Over time, the nature of work will inevitably change, just as the job of a modern-day person differs from that of a Roman. When the internet first arrived, many feared it would harm their businesses, but it has since created countless opportunities and democratized job opportunities while lowering the entry cost.

AI is not different.
